Keith James, the Mayor of West Palm Beach spoke to our Social Entrepreneurship class!

We had the opportunity to hear from Keith James, the Mayor of West Palm Beach, who shared his experiences with leadership and the responsibilities of running a city. One of his biggest priorities is public safety, emphasizing the importance of keeping residents safe while continuing to grow and develop West Palm Beach. He also gave us valuable leadership and teamwork lessons. He discussed the importance of surrounding yourself with people who are willing to challenge your ideas and speak the truth, rather than simply agree with you. During the Q&A, we learned more about the difficult decisions leaders face when balancing safety, economic growth, and the needs of the community. My biggest takeaway was that effective leadership requires listening to different perspectives and putting the community first. I hope to be like Mayor Keith James one day!
